She was born in Revelstoke, BC, to Amy & Chauncey Bowen, and was the youngest of 5. The family moved to Vancouver Island when she was young, & settled in Dashwood. Mom was one of the 10 graduates from Qualicum Beach High School in the Class of 1952.
Angeline married Ron Morgan in Sept. 1953 and they settled in Nanaimo, which was home for the rest of their lives.
Angeline was predeceased by her husband Ron, and her sisters Edna and Florence. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Morgan (Cindy) of Garibaldi Highlands, her daughter, Christina Tickner (Ed), granddaughter Mahri, grandson Jim (Amanda) & great-granddaughter Cassandra, all of the Comox Valley. Also survived by her brother Chauncey, sister Lil & numerous nieces & nephews.
Angeline was an avid Stamp Collector from an early age, which saw her communicating with people from all around the world. This hobby lead to trips to Australia & New Zealand & visits with people that she corresponded with for over 50 years.
Angeline always had a knitting project on the go, donating hundreds of children’s sweaters & doll clothes to numerous charities.
Angeline had many lifelong friendships, including members of her Grad Class, her “Stitch & Bitch” group, plus people she had worked with. Angeline & Ron spent many years fishing out of Beachcomber Marina in Nanoose. All of these friendships meant the world to her.
A heartfelt “Thank You” to the Teams at Lakeside Gardens, the Nanaimo General Hospital Renal Unit & the team from Granny Go-Go. Without these people, Mom wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the last 2 ½ years of her life. Also, a big Thank You to the Palliative Care team at NRGH. Their care and compassion during the short but difficult time Mom was there is very much appreciated.
There will be no service at Angeline’s request.
Please donate to a charity of your choice in Angeline’s name.
