Horacio Frank Silva was born in Pond, CA on October 10, 1927,He was the youngest of 8 siblings and raised on a cotton farm in San Joaquin Valley until he was 14 years old upon which time the family moved to Costa Mesa, CA. He was employed for over 60 years in the lathing industry with the last 20 years as a union official. He was a graduate of Newport Harbor High School class of 1945, where he played football as a running back and also ran for the track team. The Newport Harbor High School football team has dedicated this season to him. Upon graduating he served in the Navy for 2 years as a communications officer.
He was a long time face at the Chicken Coop Restaurant, where he often held court spending his days reminiscing and telling stories of his life, family and friends. Horacio "Frank" Silva was well known and loved by his community and will always be remembered with fond memories.
Horacio is survived by his daughter Michelle Ginnall (husband Steven), 2 grandchildren; Shawna Pinsky (partner Todd Davidson) along with their children (Abigail, Griffin and Evelyn). Grandson; Orlando Gonzales (wife Jenny) and their children (Chloe and Kirra). Along with 3 extended grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; Serapio Silva and Guadalupe Perrett, wife Gloria Silva and son Christopher Silva.
Memorial services will be under the direction of Harbor Lawn-Mt.Olive Memorial Park and Mortuary.
