It is with profound sadness and immense love that we share the passing of Fe Medina Calivoso on November 24, 2024. She left this world surrounded by her family, the people who meant everything to her and who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.
The depth of love and respect was evident when news of her illness broke. Within hours, people came from far and wide to be with her at bedside. A family member stood vigil every single moment of the day. There was a point where a maximum capacity of people in a hospital room was over-reached. A testament to how much she meant to everyone.
Ate Fe truly was one of a kind—a woman of remarkable courage, unshakable determination, and boundless love. She lived life on her own terms. She stood strong in the face of many trials and tribulations. And she persevered like a phoenix rising from the ashes.
As the eldest of eight siblings, she was their steady anchor. She was a constant source of connection and the heartbeat of their togetherness. She lived a humble life filled with the richness of family and love. She was our matriarch.
Nanay, as her seven grandchildren would call her - was known to make THE best Filipino Spaghetti. There wasn’t a birthday celebrated without this coveted dish. Cooking was her gift to those she loved—a way of bringing everyone together and showing her care.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, which lives on in those who survived by her: her three children May, Angelo and Sheila and their spouses David, Kelly, Mike and her precious grandchildren, Joshua, Sydney, Isaiah, Athena, Krystianna, Ailene and Erik.
A wake will be held on Sunday December 1st, 2024 at Harbor Lawn – Mount Olive Memorial Park in Costa Mesa. The family invites you to honor her memory by wearing something lilac, purple or lavender.
Though her absence leaves an ache that words cannot describe, her family and friends take comfort in the countless memories they shared with her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
