Jim retired as President and Chairman of the Board of Electric Power Equipment Company (EPECO) in 2005. Staying very active in his community, Jim served as President of the Columbus State University Foundation Board, was a member of the downtown Columbus Rotary Club for over 20 years, and served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Central Ohio Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
A graduate of Columbus Academy where he made life-long friends, he continued his education at Ohio University where he was awarded dual degrees in engineering and business. While there, he pledged Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and continued his involvement throughout his life culminating in becoming a Distinguished Trustee / Officer on the National level.
Jim is survived by the love of his life Theresa (Smigelski) and his children Amanda (Tom) Paisley, Ted (Muti) Norman, and Alexandra (Sean) Sutter. He is also survived by his grandchildren Grant and Alaina Paisley and Ender and Ayla Norman as well as sister Karen (Bob) Lash, three nephews, a niece, extended family members Chris, David, and Tony De Capua, and family friend Debbie Kennedy.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Kathy Jo Lower.

Per Jim’s wishes, a cremation will take place with a memorial service at a later date. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
