Del married Betty (Conkle) Meddings on June 16, 1973. He worked as a machinist at Brydet Development where he retired. He was a member of the American Legion post 65, and a member of the AM Vets post 36. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and drinking. He also especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
Del is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Betty Meddings, and his children Justin (Kristy) Meddings, Heidi (Jeremiah) Moore, and Amy (John) Shriver. He is also survived by his mother Annabelle Cantrell, and 7 grandchildren Dylan Mullens, Dalton Turner, Jalyn Free, Grace Shriver, Koen Meddings, Caden Shriver, and Kaley Meddings, as well as 3 great-grandchildren Mackenzie Free, Remi Turner, Aurora Turner, and one on the way named Larkynn Free. Del is also survived by his siblings, Bill Johnson, Brian Cantrell, Gary Cantrell, Sherry Neff, Susie Harris, and Belinda Williamson.
Del was preceded in death by his father Delbert Meddings Sr., step-father Charles Cantrell, half-brothers Leslie Meddings and Doug Cantrell, brother-in-law Jerry Neff, and sister-in-law Judy Meddings.
Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 12:00 pm officiated by Pastor Bill Jones. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Delbert’s name to the American Legion, 652 Main St, Coshocton, OH 43812.
