Rene “Sonny” Arriola, 56, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2011. He was currently employed with Brown and Root Construction as a carpenter. Rene was one of a kind, always there for his family and has left us with many memories to cherish. We love you and will miss you dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Francisca A. Vela; siblings, Martha Enriques Whirley, Rene Jr., Anita, and Robert Benavides; grandson, Tyson Arriola.
Rene leaves to cherish his memory his dad, Rene Benavides; children, Rene (Nora) Arriola, Jesse Lee Arriola and step-daughter, Anna Bass; siblings, Francisca (Pedro) Ysaguirre, Eulalio A. Vela, Maria Hernandez, Rosalinda (Pedro) Pena, Martin (Lisa) Arriola; grandchildren, Brandon R. and Dylan R. Arriola, Brianna Vega, and Andrew, Rene, and Jordan Bass. Also surviving him are numerous members of the Benavides family. A special thanks to his friend, Mary Ann “Rose” Benavides.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 549 Cheyenne St., on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M. that same evening and will conclude in the chapel.
