Rachel Sue Guerrero, age 80, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on the early morning of November 12th, 2024, after a year-long prolonged illness. A year ago, the Lord spoke to her and said “My child, repent for your time is near at hand. You don’t know the hour or the day, but I want you to be set free.” She repented, forgave and learned to love harder in the last year of her life as the word reads “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another (John 13:34) as the word reads, love covers a multitude of sins.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God” (1 Peter, 4:8) Now the family can rest in peace, and know that she is welcomed by our Father in heaven.
Rachel was a faithful partner for 40 years, a loving mother, and a deeply adored grandmother. Rachel is survived by her devoted husband, Albino Guerrero; her loving daughter, Yolanda (Guerra) De La Rosa; two grandchildren, Victor Manuel De La Rosa, and Erica Raquel De La Rosa; sisters, Connie (Holland) Fuentes , Belinda (Joe) Calero, Rosie (Chayo) Yanez, and Benita Guerra; brother, Carlos Adolpho (Elda) Chavez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. She was a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to so many.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Guerra; father, Luther Costales; sister, Yolanda Chavez; and former husband, Manuel Guerra.
There are no words that can express how blessed and grateful we are to her sister, Belinda Calero, friend, Leyla Flores, and Gabby and the hospice who took their time to give their supporting care and love during the last year of her life.
She wanted to be remembered as a person with an infectious personality, strong will and leaving a lasting impact on those who crossed her path, so we are granting her wishes to be cremated. Visitation, funeral or memorial services are not being held.
We will all miss you immensely already. You were our "go-to" when life got rough, you were our sanity in this crazy world. We thank you for all the calls, and the love you gave us and your boundless love for us all. We are all better people, because of you. We will forever keep you in our hearts with God.
