Ofelia Martinez

Ofelia Pardo Martinez was born on September 8, 1925, in Goliad, Texas to Pedro and Marguerita Pardo. She grew up on a ranch outside of Victoria, Texas. Ofelia met Reynaldo Martinez at a local dance, and the two were married on Valentine’s Day, 1949. Shortly after the birth of their first daughter, the couple moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where they raised their five children. From a very humble beginning, Ofelia and Reynaldo built a rich and beautiful life filled with family, love, and prosperity. Ofelia was adored and admired by her entire family, which she loved fiercely throughout her 96 years on this earth. She was a brilliant and generous matriarch who passed her intelligence and devotion to God on to her children and grandchildren. Although Reynaldo and their infant son, Ruben, preceded her in death, they were reunited on February 24, 2022.

The loss of Ofelia is mourned by her children Carmen Garza, Juan (Yolanda) Martinez, Richard (Veronica) Martinez, Reynaldo (Rose) Martinez, Jr., and Teresa (Javier) Olivarez, her grandchildren Erica (Jesus) Moreno, Nicolas Martinez, Angela Schibi, Jaylin Olivarez, Esteban Martinez, Jayme Olivarez and Javier Olivarez, Jr., and by her great-grandchildren Kamen, Raymond, Jr, Amaris, Kason, Trey and Khloe.
