Merle Glover

Merle Glover, 87, passed away on Friday, December 2nd, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Waelder, Texas on November 29, 1924, to Clifford and Duward McGlothlin, she was raised in Luling, Texas. She married James R. (Bob) Glover in 1946 and after following her husband's work in the oilfield for several years, settled in Corpus Christi where they raised seven children. She took great pride in supporting her children and grandchildren as PTA President, room mother, and cheerleader for all school and sports activities. She loved to spend time with family and friends. As a member of Believer's Fellowship Church, she looked forward to Bible Studies and the ladies luncheons. Her sense of humor, her compassionate listening ear, her contagious laughter, and her wise advice will always be remembered.

Merle was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, her son, Kenneth Glover, her sister, Fay Watts, and her brother, Duward McGlothlin, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Debra Francis (Bruce), Pamela Glover, Brenda Glover, Patricia Fowler (Marty Englebert), and Michael Glover (Amelia) all of Corpus Christi, and James Glover (Susan) of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Jennifer Ainsworth, Chuck Francis, Brittany Fowler, Blakely Fowler, Blaine Fowler, Courtney Percy, Matthew Glover, Tyler Glover, Kenneth Glover, and Ava Glover; her great-grandchildren, Cameron Ainsworth, Colton Ainsworth, Charles Percy, and Cale Francis; Patsy McGlothlin, numerous nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Chuck Francis, Blaine Fowler, Darrian Ainsworth, Matthew Glover, Wesley Glover, and Matt Atkinson. Honorary pallbearers are Aubrey "Bubba" Glover, Marty Englebert, and Frank Obregon.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Memory Gardens Stateroom. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 am at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Steve Bain officiating.
