Maria G Garza

She was born on November 19, 1953, in Laredo, Texas to the late Fidel and Maria Luisa Gonzalez.

In 1970, Maria married the love of her life Gilbert Garza. She was a loving wife, mother and sister. She had a caring heart and words of wisdom for everyone she touched. Family and friends were Maria’s passion and delight. She enjoyed hosting and entertaining at her home, especially at Christmas time. Maria loved to go to what she referred to as therapeutic sessions of Bingo.

Maria retired after 22 years of service as a Sr. Buyer from the City of Corpus Christi.

Maria is preceded in death by her in laws David and Eva Garza, her brother Fidel Gonzalez, Jr., and Tony Gonzalez.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving husband Gilbert Garza, Sr., her children; Gilbert Garza, Jr. (Michelle) of Corpus Christi, TX, Veronica Escamilla (Edward) of Houston, TX, John Gabriel Garza (Prudence) of San Antonio, TX, Vanessa Garza (Ryan Boros) of Houston, TX, her pride and joy her grandchildren; John Anthony and Kaitlin Garza, Samantha Garza, Jacob and Olivia Escamilla.

She was loved dearly by her family; Jose A. Molina (Rosa), Jesse Gonzalez (Liz), Joe Gonzalez (Sylvia), Isabel Ramirez (Lupe), Ermelinda Hernandez (Mark), Victor Gonzalez (Gracelynn), Sister in laws; Diana Gonzalez and Pat Gonzalez and many loving in laws, nieces, nephews and friends. She will be missed immensely.

Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
