Linda Jean Clark Campbell passed away on November 15, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born in San Bernardino, California on May 27, 1943, to Fay Dagsen Henderson and Frank “Max” Clark, her biological father. Her dad was Weldon Donald Henderson, to whom her mother married a few years later. Her family relocated to Rockport, Texas in 1951, and she graduated from Aransas County High School in 1961. It was in Rockport that she met lifelong friends with whom she remained in contact for the rest of her life.
In 1965, she married Earl Hughes Campbell, and they had two children to whom she left an appreciation for offbeat humor, the gene for premature graying, and an overdeveloped sense of defending those not as fortunate as she.
She enjoyed bird watching, was a talented gardener, and she maintained an interest in archeology and early civilizations. Her love of science influenced her career as a lab technician, retiring from CPL/AEP after many years of service. She was employed for some time at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History where she prepared artifacts for display and designed and created exhibits under the mentorship of Dr. Aalbert Heine.
Her husband, Earl, preceded her in death, as did her sister, Mary Faye Adams, her mother and stepfather, and father.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather (Eddie) Stobbs; her son, Brenden (Maria) Campbell; her grandchildren: Ryan Stobbs, Hannah Stobbs, Pablo Campbell, and Destiny Campbell; and her siblings, Eric (Georgianna) Henderson and Trisha (Dan) Richter. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
We would like to thank the staff from Christus Hospice, who cared for her in her final days. We cannot find the words to sufficiently thank the staff at Cimarron Place Health and Rehabilitation Center. They were outstanding in their care and love for her.
