Juan Manuel Rodriguez, born on January 3, 1937, in Robstown Texas, gracefully departed from this world on December 9, 2023, peacefully at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas. At 86 years old, Juan leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Having devoted 25 years to the Corpus Christi Army Depot as a helicopter aircraft mechanic, Juan's commitment and expertise were exemplary. His craftsmanship and passion extended beyond his profession to his cherished hobby of assembling and flying model airplanes. With meticulous care, he spent hours in his garage, creating these intricate marvels, showcasing his hidden engineering talents.
Juan's devotion extended to his family, surviving him with fond memories. His beloved wife of 57 years, Magdalena Rodriguez and his children, Johnny Rodriguez (Betty O. Rodriguez), Amy Mellish (Rick Mellish), Paulette Guajardo (Victor Guajardo), and Jessica Rodriguez, were dear to his heart as were his two nieces and nephew, Janie Esquivel, Mary Gongora and Al Gongora. He found immense joy in his grandchildren, Elena Nicole Rodriguez and Jude Victor Guajardo, embracing every moment spent with them.
In his journey to reunite with the Lord, Juan joins his mother, Paula Quinones and brother, Alfonso Gongora, leaving behind a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him. Juan's ability to fix anything and his passion for his country as a United States Army member defined his remarkable life.
While we mourn his loss, Juan's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his warmth, skill, and love.
A celebration of Juan Manuel Rodriguez's life will be honored through two solemn ceremonies. A Holy Rosary will be recited at Memory Gardens located at 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 on December 14th at 7:00 PM in the evening. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Following this, a continued visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, situated at 7522 Everhart Road. in Corpus Christi, Texas on December 15th at 12:00 PM with a funeral mass in remembrance of Juan to begin at 1:00 PM. This solemn occasion will provide an opportunity to honor Juan's life, his devotion, and the impact he made on all who were privileged to know him. All who wish to pay their respects are welcome to join in commemorating the life of this remarkable individual. He will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
