He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Mike Vasquez, Steve Vasquez, Jose L. Vasquez; four sisters: Juanita Solis, Maria Guzman, Aurelia Gonzales, and Beatrice Duque.
Jose is a retired MSGT of the United States Air Force; he served during the Vietnam Conflict. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jose is survived by his wife Rosemary Vasquez. Jose and Rosemary would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on June 19, 2012. Jose is survived by sons: Daniel H. (Debra) Vasquez and Samuel L. (Kristina) Vasquez; daughter, Nancy A. Vasquez; brother, Nick (Amelia) Vasquez; five sisters: Elisa (Arnulfo) Garcia, Delia Rodriquez, Concepion (Jesus) Irigoyen, Maria Luisa Lackie and Carla(Rey) Hernandez ;10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a special nephew, Luis Irigoyen, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends: he also leaves behind to cherish his memories two best friends Guadalupe Altamira and Gabe Rivera.

Family will be receiving loved ones from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home, 549 Cheyenne, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
