He was the youngest son of Ralph Bernis (d) and Suda Jo Large. James was a confirmed single man who shared his life with his loyal dog Maxx. He was a very loving, supportive, and caring man who enjoyed his private and personal space.
He is survived by Suda Jo Large (mother), Ralph Randolph (brother), Rachel G (sister-n-law), Jon Eric (brother), Nieces: Mindy Sue, Shae Carolyne, Nephews: Ralph Aaron, Ryan Walter Berry, and Edward David.
He served his country in the Air Force for 3 years. After his time there, he became a Civil Engineer who used his talents to travel the country and spread his love of life. When he became tired of one area he would pick up and move on to the next. He was loved and respected by everyone he encountered during his career. In his spare time, he and Maxx would cruise the countryside in his beloved Porsche or on his Harley. He and Maxx were inseparable who both seemed to enjoy the finer things in life.
A Celebration of his life for James Allen Large will be on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1:00 pm for visitation, the service will start at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Memory Gardens Funeral Home. His remains will be at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with military honoring service where he will be recognized with a memorial service and then he will be in the Wall of Heroes along with his father.
