He was born on August 4, 1926 in Beaumont, Texas. He was 83 years old. He was a true cowboy. He left home in his teens to be in the circuit rodeo as a bull rider. He later became partners with his brother Jimmy building homes. He was the foreman of the team that constructed many bridges, including the Intercoastal Canal Bridge. He had a creative talent in woodworking. He loved fishing and RV. He enjoyed his life and all the people he met along the way. He was always a man worth our honor.
He is preceded in death by his son, Calvin, and wife, Virgie.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Stewart, sister, Marie Thomas, brother, Jimmy, daughter, Dee Dee Neely, son, Sam, his children, Ron Wilson, Tommy Jay, Judy Johnson, Lonni Jay and Lynda Jay, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, March 19, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
