In Ja K. Keeler

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of In Ja Kim Keeler, born on 15 June 1942 in Okkpyong-ri, South Korea. She passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side. In Ja was predeceased by her father Kim Sam Ton, mother Chong Ok Hyang, and brother Kim Man Ok. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Frederick Rollins Keeler, daughter Sherry Keeler Park, Son-in-law Rex "Yogi" Park, grandson Zachery Park as well as friends who became like family.

In Ja lived through incredibly trying times, surviving the Korean War as a child in conditions of great hardship. Her resilience and spirit carried her through these times and remained defining traits throughout her life. She carried with her not just the scars of war but also the indomitable spirit that helped her make the best of the life she was given.

In Ja married Frederick, who served in the United States Air Force for 26 years, married In Ja on 12 February 1981. Their love story began in San Antonio, Texas, and it was a love that spanned continents, with Frederick having three tours in Korea during his military service. Their union was one not just of love but of shared experiences and mutual respect for each other's journeys.

Frederick retired from the Air Force in 1990, and they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. In Ja worked at Stations Casinos and Frederick worked at Home Depot and later at Lowe's, each carving out a new chapter in their American dream.

In 2005, the couple decided to return to Rockport, Texas, where they shared a love of fishing and the simple joys of life. In Ja, ever the resilient spirit made every place she lived feel like home, and Rockport was no different.

In Ja will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and her love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience and grace, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
