He was born on December 10, 1945 to Jorge and Josefina Alaniz Gonzales.
Homero honorably served 34 years in the United States Army. He was a devoted family man who loved his wife and children dearly. He enjoyed working hard to provide for his family and giving them unforgettable memories. He and his wife loved to go gambling with family and friends.
After he retired, he loved picking up his grandchildren from school, taking them lunch and supporting them with all their activities. He enjoyed working around his home, doing his yard and bar-b-queing while watching his favorite Texas teams the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys.
Preceding Homero in death, his son Jorge Antonio Gonzales, his parents Jorge and Josefina Alaniz Gonzales and brother George Gonzales.
Homero is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 44 years, Consuelo Saenz Gonzales, his children, Homero Gonzales Jr. (Theresa Gonzales) and Alissa Gonzales (Hector Munoz); grandchildren, Analysa Gonzales, Marco Ramirez, Holden Gonzales, Andre Gonzales, Jose (JJ) Villegas Jr., Cristian Villegas, David Gonzales, Eloy Tru Garza, Emma Trinity Garza, Aalivia Munoz, and Aaleah Munoz; his brother Romero Gonzales (Martha Gonzales), sisters Olga Lara (John Lara) of Marietta, GA., and Graciela Lopez (Antonio Lopez) of Henderson, NV., and numerous of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, brother and sister in laws, and friends that were like family.
Homero was a strong, hardworking, compassionate, patient, fair, loyal, humble, kind hearted, funny family man. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Funeraria del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Road, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service and Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors.
