Hilario was born to Domingo and Marcela Liserio on Oct. 21, 1927 in Yorktown, Texas. He married the love of his life, Ophelia Trevino on Aug. 28, 1950 in Mathis, Texas. Despite having a third grade level of education as a migrant worker, he raised his family with a strong foundation in education. He worked for the City of Corpus Christi Street/Storm Water Department for 37 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his time as Course Marshal at Northshore Country Club. He loved and played baseball, coached his
children in their various sporting activities, and would challenge anyone to a game of horseshoes. His love for all things music was matched only by his faith and love for his God.
Hilario is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ophelia, his brothers Ramon, Adan, Cosme, Noe Liserio and sister Leonor Martinez. Hilario is survived by his children Rodolfo Liserio (Yolanda), Rita Liserio Serrata, Rachel Martinez (Oscar), Renee Liserio, Roland Liserio (Kelley), ten grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. His beloved granddaughters Julie Montemayor, Laura Rogers, Scarlet Aguirre, and Elin Liserio will forever hold their "Papo" close to their hearts. He is also survived by his brother Victor Liserio (Anita), his sister Eva Liserio, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons Hilario Liserio, Adrian, BJ, Albert, and Andrew Martinez, and Frank Mendoza. Honorary pallbearer will be his youngest grandson, Ethan Guy Liserio. Hilario's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the many healthcare professionals involved in his care as well as the Broadmoor Senior Center and friends for their prayers. We will miss and cherish always his devotion to his family, his love of life, the multitude of stories shared, and the beloved songs from his heart.
