Gloria S Escamilla

Gloria S. Escamilla went into eternal rest on September 4, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born on June 13, 1928 to Magin and Manuela Saenz in Sejita, TX. Gloria married the love of her life the late, Tomas Escamilla, on October 10, 1948. This union lasted 52 years until Tomas’ death in 2000.

She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter, grandchildren and 7 siblings.

Gloria is survived by her children, Robert (Rosario) Escamilla, Janie (the late Salvador) Reyna, Yolanda (Enrique) Mendez, Estela (Rick) Martinez, David (Alberta) Escamilla and Gilbert (Anna) Escamilla; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a close nephew, Frank Escamilla.

Gloria was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Guadalupanas. She will be remembered for her love of God, her generosity, sense of humor and her love of family. She will be dearly missed.

The family will be receiving friends at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd., on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Visitation will resume at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 710 S. 19th St, at 12:15 pm on Saturday, September 7, 2013 with Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
