Elisa Garcia Gonzalez

Elisa Garcia Gonzalez passed away on April 25, 2016 at the age of 88. She was born on April 16, 1928 in Ranger, TX to the late Abel Garcia and Guadalupe Garcia. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. During her time here on earth she loved to work, her favorite being at Gilbert & Co. Barbershop. She enjoyed socializing with the barbers and customers and sharing her families’ stories as well as theirs. She was fortunate enough to see many generations of clients walk through the door on a daily basis. Many of these clients grew to know her as Grandma Licha, what we all know her as. She shared her experiences and wisdom with all of her children and grandchildren and her family extended beyond her own. She is preceded in death by her son, Nemias “Joe” Gonzalez. Survivors include her children, Hilda Wist (James), Gilbert Gonzalez and Sylvia Magallan; sister, Guadalupe Villegas; nephew, Ramon Ballin (Carmen). She was also blessed with her grandchildren including; Jesse Lopez (Betty), Corina Lopez, Alex Lopez, Jamie Pauline Wist, Jacqueline Josefa Wist, Alejandro G. Gonzalez (Rosa), Abel O. Gonzalez (Sandy), Mark Villarreal, Nemias Daniel Gonzalez, Michael Villarreal, Alexis Gonzalez, Roger Joseph Quintanilla (Jennifer), Marisa Magallan, Monica Magallan. Great grandchildren include Brandon Lopez, Brooke Martine, Lauren Lopez, Ryleigh Gonzalez, Matthew Gonzalez, Michael Gonzalez, Joey Gonzalez, Maliky Gonzalez, Donavan Gonzalez, Aiden Joseph Quintanilla, Harper James Quintanilla, Liam Magallan. Great-great-grandchildren, Nathan Lopez and Joey Melendez. Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel; 549 Cheyenne on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
