Donald Lee Rose, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. He was born on May 26, 1936 in New Castle, Indiana to Larry Bower Rose and Mary Katherine Catey Rose. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Donald worked for Roosevelt & Baker and also joined the US Air Force. He married the love of his life, Jane Rose on February 21, 1981 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a member of the Lions Club on Shoreline and Jr. JC for CRP. He played a key role in bringing the SightFirst program to Corpus Christi that has helped hundreds to prevent blindness and eye disease.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jane and daughters, Alice Kosinar and Billie Cook.
Survivors include his four brothers, Larry Ray, William Robert, Chester Allen and David Leslie; one sister, Sarah Rose Brown; grandchildren, Cindy Huber, Sam Kosinar, Heather Bentley and Meredith Sefchick as well as many great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled for 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral service is scheduled Monday, January 30, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
