Mr. Conrado M. Flores, Jr., born on February 23, 1940, passed away unexpectedly on February 11, 2021 due to complications of underlying health issues following a surgical procedure. Mr. Flores, with his hilarious sense of humor, was born in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mr. Flores attended Cunningham Jr. High and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed at the Great Lakes in Chicago, Illinois and traveled extensively. While in the service, he married Miss Theresa O. Medellin of Armstrong, Texas on April 23, 1966. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Holy Family Church.
He was a very proud father of five daughters: Glenda M. Barrera (Carlo), Gina M. Sanchez (Danny Salinas), Gilda M. Armendariz, Giselda M. Flores (Wayne Brown), and Ganelle M. Perez (Chris). He adored his granddaughters: Samantha Sanchez (Martin Leos), Jedidiah Flores, Luke Perez, and Loreli Perez; Great-grandchildren, Martin Leos and Mason Leos. Also, he had several nieces and nephews.
Some of his passions were fishing at various “hotspots” in Corpus Christi Bay, hunting at Armstrong Ranch, and taking long walks at the Bayfront Seawall. He was a long-time member of the Y.M.C.A. and considered a VIP at the Golden Bingo Family Bingo Hall. Mr. Flores loved to take his wife dancing at the Memorial Coliseum and Galvan Ballroom to hear various Conjunto and Tejano groups such as Mazz and Little Joe y La Familia.
He has three younger brothers: Aaron Castillo of San Antonio, Victor Castillo and Ruben Castillo of Corpus Christi. Additionally, he has numerous cousins from Mondragon, Castillo, and Riojas’ Families…too many to name. In addition, he has precious loved ones, the Medellin family of Armstrong Ranch, Armstrong, Texas.
Mr. Flores is preceded in death by his wife: Theresa O. Flores; his father: Conrado Flores, Sr.; his mother: Dora Mondragon Castillo, and his siblings: Henry Flores and Maria Theresa Flores.
