Bernarda was born to Policarpio and Rita C. Gonzalez on August 20, 1938 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mom joins her beloved husband, Arnoldo Moreno, parents; brothers Felix Gonzalez, Hipolito Gonzalez, Rudolfo Gonzalez, and Carlos Gonzalez; sisters Gabina Bazan and Rita Perez; and granddaughter Samantha Nash in Heaven. Bernarda is survived by many loving family members, including her son Juan Carlos Gonzales; daughters Nelda (Esiquio) Perez, Patricia (Joe Ray) Gonzales; sister Julia C. Gonzalez; grandchildren Luis J.(Guinevere)Cruz II ; Bernadette (Timothy) Turner; John Charles (Justin) Gonzales; Esiquio G. Perez III; numerous great, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, Bernarda also loved to express herself artistically, spend time with her family talking, laughing, watching Lifetime movies, and playing loteria. She was a talented cake decorator at HEB for many years, and was known for her delicious cakes. Throughout Bernarda’s entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Please join her family in honoring her memory with a Rosary on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM. A church mass will be held at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
