Norma Jean was born to Nick and Margaret Kredit on May 24, 1933, in Aurora Center, South Dakota. She grew up on the family farm with her parents and brother, Herb, and enjoying the company of many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Norma graduated from high school and subsequently attended business college in Sioux Falls, SD.
After graduating from business college, Norma worked at Souix Falls Hospital for a while. Later she moved to Grand Rapids, MI, working as a proofreader in the printing department of Calvin College. As a result of having this job, she developed a life-long habit of lovingly correcting the family in their use of grammar.
Norma moved to California in 1960, working in various jobs. In 1963, she toured Europe with her cousin Shirley Noteboom. Norma married Don Renner on Oct 24, 1970, in Bellflower, CA and they were married for 25 years.
Once in California, Norma worked in various career fields related to sales, selling real estate, door announcers to businesses, and for the last 25 years selling cemetery property at Pacific View Mortuary & Memorial Park.
Norma was quite artistic, creating many beautiful paintings over the years. She loved the Kredit reunions with her cousins, bunco with her neighbors, gardening, nightly Jeopardy, and her very dear Los Angeles Lakers.
Norma was a lifelong person of faith. She enthusiastically served the Lord with her gifts, notably by singing in the church choir.
Norma is survived by her nephew Dan (Chris) Kredit of Bothell, WA with their children Laura Kredit of Seattle, WA and Kevin (Kristen) Kredit and daughter Anna of Spring Lake, MI, as well as her niece Sharon (Steve) Farrington of La Mesa, CA, and their children Jonathan (Thanjira) Farrington and son William of La Mesa, CA, Annie Farrington of La Mesa, CA, Sara(Austin) Clark and son Wesley of Oceanside, CA, and Daniel Farrington of Phoenix, AZ.
