Sammy Neal McDonald

Celebration of Life Service for Sammy Neal McDonald, 74, of Guys, TN is set for 2:00 pm Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Edwards and Bro. Zack Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Gardens.

Mr. McDonald died Monday, October 7, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center.

Sammy was a graduate of Michie High School, who loved horses and dogs, was a carpenter and a truck driver for most of life. He was a retired scalesman for Securitas in Counce, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Minnie McDonald; brothers, Clayton, Ernest, Hubert, Leonard, Johnny and Odell McDonald; sisters, Melinda Smith, Bertha Davis, Jessie Hall, Faye Blackwell, Ruby Barnes, Jewell Coleman and Cathy Rorie.

He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Stan) Vanhaitsma, Janet (A. J. Tigrett) Holley; sister, Joann McDonald; grandchildren, Jessica (Grant) Davis, Laura (Adam) Thornton, Desiree (Bruce) Gentry; Great-grandchildren, Slayte Davis, Kendra Crum and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chad Potts, Grant Davis, Glen Baker, Sam Baker, Craig Holley and Bruce Gentry.

Visitation will be held Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday 12:00 until service time at Memorial Funeral Home.
