A Celebration of Life Service for Johnnie Mae Taylor Talley, age 93 is set for 2:00 pm, Monday at Memorial Funeral Hone with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell and Bro. Philip Caples officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Family and Friends Gathering will be Monday from 12:00 to service time.
Mrs. Talley died Saturday, July 20, 2024, at MS Care Center, In Corinth, MS. She was born March 7, 1931, in Alcorn County and attended Kossuth Schools. She retired from Garan in 1997 with 29 ½ years of service, retiring as supervisor. Mrs. Talley was a lifelong member of Tishomingo Chapel Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and working in her flowers, garden and yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Royce Talley; her parents, John Marcus and Lillie Parish Taylor; son-in-law, Hugh Mitchell; a brother, James Opal Taylor; sister, Anna Laura South; brother-in-law, Ben South; sister-in-law, Helen Brown Taylor; and great great granddaughter, Ashton Faith Wyse.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Talley Mitchell; son Eric Scott Talley (Melba); grandchildren, Keith Mitchell (Cynthia), Deborah Wyse (Skip), Sharon Barnes (Tim), Eric Talley Jr. (Tonya); 10 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers, John Paul Waldon, Stanley Nelms, Jimmy Parish, Lonnie McKee, Blaine Barnes and Taylor Barnes.
Honorary, Robert Waldon, James Allen and the Tishomingo Chapel Sunshiners.
