Amy Lois Counce Robertson, 98, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024. She was born in Counce, TN on November 2,1925 to the late Lon E. and Mary Ethel Counce. She graduated from Shiloh High School in 1942 and then attended Florence State Teachers College (UNA). She married Howard E. Robertson in 1946, and they made their home in Corinth. Amy was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren gave her so much pleasure and she always made time for them.
Amy was a strong Christian who loved her family church family. She joined First Baptist Church in 1950, and for many years she taught Sunday school and church training to preschool children. A genealogy enthusiast, she researched her Pendley and Counce family trees for nearly 10 years. In her 90's she still faithfully visited friends and church members living in area nursing homes. Before her death she was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, William E. Counce and James D. Counce; son, Michael Howard Robertson and a grandson Michael Lanning Rhoades.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Rhoades of Corinth, MS; granddaughter, Annie Rhoades of Oxford, MS; a very special sister-in-law, Betty Bumpas of Corinth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Baptist Children's Village c/o First Baptist Church in Corinth, or a charity of your choice.
