Vicente was born an only child in Havana, Cuba to Vicente and Daniela Pico on September 27,1935. He went to school in Havana, Cuba. He married Amelia Reyes on June 1, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from the Universidad de La Havana with a degree in civil engineering. He worked as a Motorman for the New York City Transit Authority for 25 years. He was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. In his younger days, he was Mr. Super Handyman; there wasn’t a home project or remodel he couldn’t handle. He was a strong family man. During his free time, he enjoyed going to the casino, watching baseball and novellas, and going out to dinner. He instilled the importance of family and education to us all.
Vicente is preceded in death by his parents Vicente and Daniela Pico, his wife of 60 years Amelia Pico, and his daughter Sylvia Pico-Martines.
Vicente is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Evelyn and Lawrence DeMaio, Janice and Kenny Brady, Nancy and Angelo Ferrigno, his grandchildren Victoria and her husband Dylan, Matthew, Christopher, Amelia, Jessica, Frank, Daniela, Angelo, Elizabeth, Vicente, and Evelyn, as well as his great-grandchild Jensen.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Sunday, December 22,2024 at Kraeer Funeral Home, 1655 N University Dr, Coral Springs, FL 33071
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, December 23, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. 1500 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068
