Miguel Angel Vazquez, 68, of Coral Springs, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2016. Miguel was born February 24, 1948 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to the late Jose Vazquez and Laura Ortega Rivera. He came to live in Miami at the age of 16. He was involved in Heavy Civil/Transportation most of his life and he absolutely lived for his work. Even upon his retirement, he missed his work and colleagues. He kept in touch diligently with all of them. Always during drives with his family, he would point out all the highways and bridges that he helped build. He was very proud. He was also an avid gun collector and a strong supporter and member of the NRA. He never missed a gun show. He enjoyed classic country music, especially George Strait, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Margarita, his son, Michael Vazquez, daughters, Marlene (Vazquez) Underdown, Arlene Vazquez, his grandchildren, Debbie Vazquez, Michael Hein, William Hein, Dominic Vazquez, Sebastyan Perry, and great grandchildren Aidan Meehan, Mayana Hein, his son-in-law Lee Underdown, and four sisters and two brothers, Papon, Milagros, Nydia, Tito, Jeanette and Rosin. He also had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles, along with his lifelong friends that are too numerous to mention but always held a strong place in his heart.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7, 2017 2:00 – 3:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1 North State Road 7, Margate, FL where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Miguel's memory to the American Cancer Society.
