Born in New York City in 1947 to parents Albert and Ann Lorenzo, Lynne enjoyed a uniquely international childhood. She typically spent one-half of each year in New Jersey with her mother, and the other half of the year living with both parents in Tokyo, Japan, where her father operated a factory. Lynne was often the only girl in her classes at the “American School” in Tokyo, a school for the children of diplomats. This contributed to Lynne’s independent streak that her friends grew to appreciate and love.
After graduating High School early, Lynne joined Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant at the age of 17. While Lynne enjoyed the international travel, she looked forward to a career, and graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Psychology. Lynne’s career reflected her dedication towards helping others. As an elementary school teacher, she started the first Learning Lab in the state of Oklahoma and was honored as teacher of the year in Oklahoma City. Years later, Lynne transitioned from the classroom to the corporate environment. As a Human Resource Director at DHL, she initiated the HR and Training function in DHL’s International Americas region, contributing to the growth of the company and well-being of the employees. As a dedicated Realtor, Lynne loved helping families find their perfect home in Parkland, Florida.
Lynne met her beloved husband Jim Fenoglio at DHL, and they married on April 29, 2001. After Lynne and Jim moved to Parkland to be closer to their parents, Lynne fell in love with the close-knit community and dedicated herself to public service and serving the community. She successfully fought to have sound walls added to the Sawgrass Expressway, with the help of many in the community. Lynne joined the Parkland Friends of the Library, and served on Parkland’s Planning and Zoning board from 2004 to 2019.
Lynne enjoyed entertaining at her and Jim’s home. Over the years they hosted many memorable holiday parties. Lynne also loved her dogs and passed her love of dogs on to Jim. Each of her dogs, including Tiffany, Muffy and Rags, seemed to match a different aspect of Lynne’s vibrant personality.
