Edward A Salzer

On May 29, 2024 Edward, a loving husband and father passed away in Coral Springs, Florida at the age of 92. Edward was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Albert Theobald Salzer and Isabel S Saizan Salzer. Edward joined the United States Air Force in 1951, during the Korean War and was station in Germany. While there he met Joan Bursner, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who was also in the United States Air Force. They were married in Wresbader, Germany and had three children: Edward Jr, deceased, a daughter Carla, and a son Douglas. Edward graduated from Louisiana State University in 1958 and worked in the world of finance. He lived with his family in both Birmingham and Huntsville, Alabama and resided in Coral Springs, Florida for 52 years. Edward loved sports, played basketball and football in his younger days and enjoyed golf well into his golden years.

Edward is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter Carla, and husband Keith Poucher; son Douglas and wife Lisa; daughter-in-law Mary Olivia (Libby); 4 grandchildren Nathan, Carrie, Katie, and Claire; 1 great-grandson, Finn.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 12:30 PM, at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 State Road 7, Wellington, FL 33449.
