Robert Lee Brown

Robert Lee Brown, age 65, of Copperas Cove, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023. Robert was born September 28, 1958 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to parents, Roy E. Brown and Joann Relka. Robert was such a joy to all who were blessed to know him. He had a lot of stories to share and could always make you laugh.

Robert grew up in Minatare, Nebraska, and graduated from Minatare High School in 1978. While in school, Robert was active in wrestling, football, and baseball. He also played the clarinet and participated in the chorus while in high school.

On October 6, 1979, Robert married the love of his life, Brenda Lorraine Meier. The two shared nearly 44 wonderful years together. Together, they had two children, a daughter, Brandy, and son, Brent.

During Robert's early years, he farmed and worked at a local Minatare, Nebraska feed lot. Robert then served honorably in the U.S. Army, from 1987- 2001. During his military service, Robert traveled overseas to Korea, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Bosnia. After separating from the Army, Robert traveled the United States as a truck driver until 2013. In 2013, Robert was employed by Wal-Mart as an Overnight Assistant Manager. He retired in 2021.

Robert was an avid football fan and enjoyed spending weekends watching football and barbecuing with friends and family while cheering on his favorite teams.

Robert is survived by his wife, Brenda Brown; his daughter, Brandy Brown; his son, Brent Brown, and Lucas Lynch, two grandchildren, J.W. Lynch and Rex Lynch.; his brother Roy Dean Brown, and sister, Rhonda Jo Brown.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Roy E. Brown, mother, Joann Relka, step-father, Ted Relka, and father-in-law, Thomas C. Meier, and mother-in-law, Margaret M. Meier.

A Memorial Service for Robert will be held Friday November 17, 2023 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery beginning at 2pm.
