Kevin was born in Chengdu, Sichuan, China on March 1, 1994, to Liang Li and Wei Wang. He came to the US when he was 3 years old and was baptized in the name of Jesus on Jan 8, 2006, at the church in Irving when he was 12.
Kevin spent his elementary, middle school, and freshman year of high school at North Hills Preparatory in Irving, TX. Afterward, he attended the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) program at the University of North Texas to complete his high school program. Upon graduating from TAMS, he went to UT Austin and received his bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2016.
During his junior year at UT, in the summer of 2015, Kevin began his career as an analyst with Goldman Sachs in Market Risk Management. Following his college graduation, he joined PwC as a consultant in Mergers & Acquisitions in 2016. A few years later, he moved on to FTI Consulting in 2019 and worked in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring team. In May of 2021, Kevin embarked on a new endeavor working at Alvarez & Marsal for private equity performance improvement and M&A Services.
Apart from his high academic and career accomplishments, Kevin greatly enjoyed music and had played piano for more than 10 years. He was also super passionate about exploring the world and had traveled to more than a dozen countries, among them Canada, Japan, South Korea, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, England, France, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Austria, Poland, Mexico, Belize, Honduras, and Colombia.
Although his life may have been short, it was so incredibly brilliant. Kevin truly lived as he wished, and, like a summer flower, he bloomed in the sunniest season with all the joy and splendor and wonder of life. He was a great son, sweetest grandson, wonderful nephew, caring cousin, and an excellent friend.
He is with the Lord now and will live on forever in the hearts of all his family and friends.
