George Enrique Ceballos

George Enrique Ceballos, a proud Colombian immigrant and naturalized U.S. citizen, passed away at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Colombia, George dedicated over 20 years of his life to the Colombian Air Force, retiring with honor. Seeking better opportunities for his family, he later immigrated to the United States, where he built a life full of love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to those around him.

George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosa Ceballos, his soulmate of over 46 years, who passed away in 2017. Their love story was a beautiful testament to loyalty, music, and laughter—a bond that remained unbreakable even as the years went by. Together, they filled their home with warmth and love, welcoming family and friends with open arms and an endless supply of affection.

He is survived by his three children: Jorge Ceballos, Maria Cruz, and Rosita Ceballos, who carry forward the values of kindness and perseverance that he instilled in them. His legacy also lives on through his grandchildren: Natalia Pollauf, Mario Ceballos, Lea Ceballos, Viviana Ceballos, Michael Arevalo and his son, Jonah Arevalo, Miguel Cruz, Agustin Romeo Cruz, Gabriel Cruz, Valentino Cruz, Alessandra Cruz, and Gavin Lucca Frank, all of whom were his greatest source of pride and joy.

Known for his big heart, unwavering generosity, and a constant thumbs-up paired with a warm smile, George was a guiding light to his family and friends. He played a pivotal role in helping countless loved ones immigrate to the United States, offering them not just a home, but a new beginning. Whether he was sipping his favorite cup of coffee, cracking a joke, or making funny faces to cheer up his grandchildren, George brought joy into every room he entered.

A man of many talents, George was most comfortable in his garage, with tools in hand, working on helicopter parts, vehicles, or any project that needed his expertise. His mind was an encyclopedia of mechanical knowledge, and he was always eager to share that knowledge with others. His humble yet brilliant presence was a steady force in the lives of all who knew him.

An accomplished guitarist and singer, George famously serenaded his beloved Rosa to win her heart. Their love story was a melody that resonated throughout their lives—a song that continues to play in the hearts of their children and grandchildren. Even as Alzheimer's disease began to take its toll, George remained the life of the party, known for his infectious laugh, his lively spirit, and the ability to find joy in the simplest moments.

His love for God and his family was the foundation of his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion that will be carried forward by all those who were blessed to know him. George Enrique Ceballos will forever be remembered as a man whose heart was as vast as his wisdom and whose love for his family never wavered, even in his final days.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on September 4th, 2024, at St. Ann Catholic Parish, 180 Samuel Blvd, Coppell, Texas 75019.
