Anna Marie Polcari nee Sill, age 91, of Coppell, TX was called home to our Lord on June 17, 2022. Anna Marie was born on October 17, 1930, in Brackenridge, PA to Alvin and Isabella Sill. Her siblings include an older brother Alvin and younger siblings Joan, Bernard, John, and Paul. The family moved to Buffalo, NY in 1942 where Anna Marie graduated from Holy Angels Academy in 1948. During her school years, Anna and her girlfriends formed the “Dizzy Eggs” social club. Anna Marie enjoyed reading, playing basketball, ice skating and horseback riding. She graduated from D’Youville College in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Anna excelled in her schooling in high school and college.
After graduation Anna Marie worked in a chemistry lab at the Linde division of Union Carbide in Buffalo where she met her husband, John Polcari. They were married on October 16, 1954, at All Saints Catholic Church in Buffalo. John and Anna are the parents of 10 children, John, Mary, Daniel, Peter, Margaret, Robert, Annette, Michael, Amy, and Catherine. John and Anna moved to South Charleston, WV in 1968 where they raised their family. In addition to her family, Anna Marie enjoyed participating in the neighborhood garden club, bridge club and crocheting. John and Anna were active members at St. Anthony and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches while living in WV. In retirement, John and Anna enjoyed traveling around the country to visit their children and grandchildren. In 2013 John and Anna moved to Coppell, TX to be nearer family in their later years. Anna was a Eucharistic Minister and Server at Holy Family Chapel at Christus St. Joseph Village. She also enjoyed socializing with her friends at St. Joseph.
Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Isabella Sill, by her beloved husband of 60 years John, by her brother Alvin, and by her granddaughter Theresa Polcari. Anna Marie is survived by her children and their spouses, John (Madeline) Polcari, Mary (Denis) Dudley, Daniel Polcari, Peter Polcari, Margaret (Michael) Herubin, Robert (Susan) Polcari, Annette (Ben) Bittle, Michael Polcari, Amy (Peter) Ackling, and Cathy Scott; by her grandchildren and their spouses, John David (Layla) Polcari, Nicholas Polcari, Vanessa (Buster) Jesik, Carolyn Polcari, David (Emily) Polcari, Christina (Afnajjer) Hernandez, Stephanie (John) Malazzo, Danielle Herubin, John (Madison) Herubin, Andrew Herubin, Dominick (Ashley) Polcari, Angela Polcari, Andrew Polcari, Deanna Polcari, Maria Polcari, Jack Polcari, Patricia Bittle, Robert (Paige) Bittle, Ben (Alicia) Bittle II, Mahlon Scott and Danny Scott; by her 10 great-grandchildren; by her sister Joan Potter, by her brothers and their spouses Bernard (Kyra) Sill, John (Margaret) Sill, Paul (Kathleen) Sill; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and rosary will be held from 3-5:00 pm on Saturday, June 25th at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home, 400 Freeport Pkwy, Coppell, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, 180 Samuel Blvd, Coppell, TX at 10 am on Monday, June 27th. Interment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX on Tuesday, June 28th at 9 am.
