Rest in Peace, Tom.
I love you and  I will miss you forever.

Tom is my first cousin. My mother (Ruth Stevenson McNulty Kittredge) and his father (Harry Stevenson) were siblings. 
It was wonderful that Tom frequently took the time to call my mom (in Idaho) in the years before she died.  They would talk about his childhood and his dad and world events, but mostly about the Bible and their love for Jesus.  She loved talking about the Lord and she loved Tommy very much. She looked forward to his calls. Mom was very happy when he reassured her that his family was saved.  Nothing matters more. 
When I think of Tom,  I think of this photo because of Mom.

Wow, my dad, what can I say…

First and foremost my dad loved his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, and he wanted everyone to have the joy, love and peace that knowing Jesus brings!

My dad was a great dad and grandpa and none of us ever went without knowing how much he loved and enjoyed his time with us! He shared his work ethic, his love of music and art, and his love of Jesus with all of us and so many others. He would make time to talk to or help anyone with anything. He had an incredible amount of love, knowledge and wisdom which he was willing to share with anyone. I often told people that my dad had forgotten more than I’ll ever know…and that’s saying something, lol. 

So when all is said and done, my dad loved the Lord, he loved his wife, he loved his kids, he loved his grandkids, and he loved his entire family. 

What a man! Exactly the kind of man I hope to be. 

What a legacy!

I just wanted to leave a couple thought here. Every life has so many chapters. A distinctive and very memorable one in my life would have been starting a band with Tim Stevenson and actually progressing to play and make a living at it for a while. It was one hell of an adventure. We eventually evolved into Whitewater and I feel we reached a pretty good level of entrainment. Over the years since that time, as I do not play anymore, I have still kept an eye out for the Stevenson family and how they have kept continuing to preform and I was always very happy to see that. I often share my memories of the “Good ole Days” with my family and friends. What has become more and more apparent over the years is how, although there was a lot of talent in our” band” from the start, what really brought us to the level of a professional working band was both Tom’s guidance and his added talent, when he joined the band. I am very grateful to have had that chapter in my life. I also had lost my mother during this time and both Tom and Janet were very kind and helped me though some of that loss.
My thought and sympathies go out to Tim and Lena, Jeff, Amy and Gregg and of course Janet as well as all of the extended families. I do definitely hope that there is music and songs to be song for Uncle Tom in his final resting place.
My favorite vocal by him was probably when we would be warming up in the basement and he would sing Simon and Garfunkel’s “Homeward Bound”. Just amazing.


I remember meeting Jill and Jeff to listen to the band, The Naked Cowboys" and loved Tom voice.  Peace, Love and Prayers to the family.  God Bless!

I have so many fond memories of my uncle Tom.  Many weekends when I was growing up were spent with my mom's family.  With that being said, there was always music, singing and playing instruments.  We always had a great time.  I've always  enjoyed singing with uncle Tom,  and sometimes I would stop over to their house and him and I would go sing some songs.   I'm going to miss these special times with uncle Tom, but I hope the music will continue on when we have family get togethers.  I know the music will be playing loud in Heaven.  To my Aunt Janet, Tim & Lena, Jeff & Jill, Amy & Joel, Greg & Jamie, the grandchildren and great grandchildren keep all your memories of uncle Tom close to your heart.  I will keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.  God bless all of you.  I love you all.  Rest In Peace, uncle Tom!

Rest In Peace Uncle Tom! I will miss you, the music you inspired and taught me to love and to play! I will always remember the fun we had, the songs you taught me how to play on the guitar from Neil Diamond and Gordon Lightfoot! Those were the good days, I will always remember and cherish in my heart and soul! I will miss , stopping  by your house and talking to you, playing guitar and just spending time with you! To My Uncle Tom- 
At 14 you became my Uncle Tommy  I watched you, Uncle Sonny, my mom, Grandma and Grandpa and Karen play instruments and sing.  Aunt Sue was in the audience.  Our own family entertainment.  
I will always cherish the many years.  The kisses with red lipstick when you were babysitting, the duck tail hairstyle, listening to you guys play at South High, digging money out of Grandma's purse for you (I got a swat on that one), being the flower girl in your wedding.  And all the Stevenson musical weekends and parties.  Your generosity in teaching and encouraging many generations to carry on the Family talent.  Hugs to you in Heaven. As you can see - many posts going on right now with the musicians in my family.  Sadly my Uncle Tom passed away on Friday, February 4.  For those who know my family - it's all about the music.  It was only natural for me to have married Daryl - the music is our lives.  Uncle Tom was the one who helped my granddaughter Isabel learn the guitar.  My grandson Sam - also received encouragement.  This was a continuation of Daryl's steps to help teach them.     
I am the oldest of the Stevenson grandchildren - therefore at the tender age of 14 - my Uncle Tom became an uncle.  I then paraded down the aisle in my pretty yellow dress at his and Aunt Janet's wedding. 
From my grandparents, to my mom's siblings, to the next two generations - we have had the good fortune to have been surrounded by singers and musicians.  Uncle Tom is now joining some of them in the heavenly band of Stevenson's and extended family.  
To my Aunt Janet, my cousins and their families and to my Aunt Karen and Uncle Gary and all the rest of the cousins - may the memories we have and those yet to be created - bring us peace and comfort.  Love you All.  🎼🎼🎼🎸🎸🎹🎹🎤🎤 May we continue to carry on with the singing he so loved.
