Robert was born on August 18,1946. He lived in Chicago his whole life and loved driving his semi-truck for a living. He was a road driver for most of his career, then became a city driver to be closer with his family. He married Michele Handing March 23, 1996 whom was the love of his life! Robert moved to Minnesota in 2018 to be with his daughter and granddaughters. He was a devoted husband, father and papa. He loved spending time with all his girls, and going to Menards. He enjoyed fixing up his yard, word puzzles and Old Westerns. He had a love for coffee no matter the time of day! He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife Michele; daughter Ryan Marie Nelson (husband Eric) and two grandchildren Adelynn and Emily Nelson. He was preceded in death by parents LeRoy & Lorraine; three brothers Raymond, Harold, and LeRoy.
A funeral service for Robert will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 5:00 PM at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN., with visitation one hour prior beginning at 4 PM and reception following. Military honors at the funeral home by VVA#470 Honor Guard
