Edward L. Anderson, Jr. Age 90, of Edina, MN, and Cape Coral, FL, went to Heaven on 1/14/2022. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on 6/23/1931 to Edward and Ethel Anderson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Suzanne. Survived by children: Carl, Scott (Vicki), David (Rachelle), and Karen Lamb (James); grandchildren: Phillip, Erica, Cameron, Kylie, Logan, Nathan, Matthew, and Nicholas; brother Richard; friend Dianne Longo; and other relatives and friends. Edward graduated from Austin High School in Chicago where he served as that school’s R.O.T.C. Commander Major. Edward served as an Ordnance Officer in the U.S. Army 7th Infantry Division protecting the DMZ immediately after the Korean War. In 1957 he graduated from Bradley University in Mechanical Engineering. Edward married Suzanne Dorothy Stolberg on July 30, 1960. Edward and Suzanne moved to Edina, MN in 1962, and in 1964 Edward began a 30-year career with 3M. Anderson family memories include cross-country road trips, Sanibel Island vacations, camping on Fishtrap Lake, the Boys’ hockey and Karen’s skating, the backyard view dropping onto Melody Lake, and dogs Sugar and Tasha. In 2001 Edward and Suzanne moved into their beautiful self-designed home in Cape Coral, FL, where they fully enjoyed sunny retirement. Edward enjoyed boating and fishing, Minnesota lakes, United States history, traveling with Mom, dinners with Dianne, many friends, and the ups and downs of the Minnesota Vikings. Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, February 25, at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN, 55448. 10 am Visitation. 2 pm internment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
