2021, at 101 years of age. Alberto was born on August 7, 1919 in the city of Nueva
Gerona, Isle of Pines, Cuba . He graduated from the University of Havana School of
Medicine in 1945, and a year later married Celerina Nieves Herrera, also a medical
school graduate. Alberto practiced as a radiologist in Holguin, Cuba, where he
established a successful medical practice. At age 50, he immigrated to the United
States, and undertook the necessary testing and training to work once again as a
radiologist. Alberto loved medicine, was an excellent physician, and kept up with
radiology news even after retiring. Throughout his life, he kept in contact with
friends and family from his native Cuba, many of whom had immigrated to the
United States. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great
grandfather, and had great love for his extended family as well . He was incredibly
generous and honest, a man of honor. Alberto deeply missed his wife, who passed
away January 13, 2016. He was proud of his grandchildren, and through example
taught them the ethics of integrity and hard work. Survived by daughters Celerina
(Mark) and Diana (Roger), grandchildren Jordan (Kelle), Peter (Mandy), Annie
(Rowan), Mark, Andrew (Katie) and Daniel, and three great-grandchildren. Due to
