Virginia Barr was married to Donald Barr for 45 loving years. She worked in Conroe as a banker and accountant for Texas Banc Savings, First National and Amerigas. She then established a golf car business with her son in 2005, but retired in 2010 to seek her true passion as wife, mother, and grandmother. She had the largest heart you could ever experience and strongest faith in the Lord. She was Granny to everyone. She will truly be missed.
She is survived by her husband Donald Barr, her two sons Donald Christopher Barr and wife Stephanie of Nacogdoches TX, Kevin Ray Barr and wife Shanna of Conroe, TX, grandchildren Mark , Ryan and Wife Madison, Colby, Cameron, Cory, Chelsea, Carlee, Cody and Baylin, great grandchild Cason. Her brothers and sisters Wayne Fontaine, Bill Fontaine, Glinda Tyler, Betty Powell, and Maryette Chatham.
She is preceded in death by her parents Leon and Mary Lee Fields, her brothers Gene Raymond Fontaine and Sydney Fields, her sisters Dixie Biddle and Marie “Ree” Hinson.
A Visitation for Virginia Barr will be held at Metcalf Funeral Directors in Conroe on Wednesday May 27th from 5pm to 7pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the same location on Thursday May 28th starting at 10 am.
