Ronald Erwin Stone, 71, of Conroe, went home to heaven on June 1, 2014. He has received the ultimate healing, and for that, we are grateful. He was born to the late John and Roberta Stone on March 12, 1943, in Columbus, Georgia. Ron served in the Navy for 4 years and was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He then graduated from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa. Ron worked for Delta Air Lines for 29 years and Continental for 7 years. Ron loved to travel, a passion he happily passed on to his children. He loved all things mechanical, from planes to cars, and could fix anything. Music was woven into the fabric of his life, and Ron could name the artist and year of a song after hearing a few notes, not to mention where he was the first time he heard it. Most of all, though, Ron loved Jesus. He was firm in his faith from a young age and he knew that God had protected and guided him throughout his entire life. He married Deanna Thibodeaux on April 20, 1974. They celebrated their 40th anniversary on Easter Sunday of this year. He leaves behind his daughters Robin (and her husband Matt Dufilho) of Lubbock; and Carly (and her husband Casey O’Quinn) of Montgomery. He will also be greatly missed by his five grandchildren: Luke, Maggie, Ellie, Rory, and Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the West Conroe Baptist Church World Mission Fund, 1855 Longmire Road, Conroe, Texas 77304 or the Homeschool Freedom Fund at http://www.homeschoolfoundation.org/. Visitation will take place Thursday, June 5, 5-8 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe. A celebration of life service will be held at the chapel at West Conroe Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 6.
