On Sunday, January 20th, 2019, Roger Eugene King, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 64 at his home in Willis, Texas. Roger was born on April 18th, 1954 in Phillipsburg, Kansas to Norval and Thelma (Ferguson) King. He was valedictorian at Basalt High School in Colorado and he received his bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Colorado in 1976. Roger was a territory sales manager for both John Deere and Caterpillar. In 1980 he married Cecilia Leigh Skinner. They raised two children, Rachel and Ross, whom he was extremely proud of. Roger loved cooking and was known for his award-winning BBQ. Spending time with his family and giving gifts to others was his passion. Academics and athletics were always a major part of his life. He enjoyed supporting and pushing his children to be the best in the classroom and in sports. He was known for his sense of humor, love for his family, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Norval, his mother, Thelma, and his sister, Margaret. He is survived by his wife Cecilia, his children, Rachel and Ross, his sister, Mary, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas.
