Bob was born and raised in the Detroit area, an area that is rooted in the car industry and music industry, both of which became a couple of Bob’s greatest passions. He met the love of his life, Mary in Michigan and they wed over 40 years ago. Bob’s career presented him the opportunity to head west and with sunshine and warmth waiting, he seized the opportunity and California became his home.
California is where he began his life as a husband, a father and met friends that would endure a lifetime and became family. Job opportunities took him to Arizona where he again saw his family grow with an addition of a daughter-in-law, two precious granddaughters and meeting more lifelong friends. After retirement Bob settled in Texas near family and one of his first purchases was his boat…Bob’s joy was palpable when he was cruising the lake on his boat. Bob’s passions were vast including music, cars, boating, sports and of course his love of history with World War II history being the forefront. Bob wasn’t a ‘traveler’ but he did travel….Bob saw a long time dream come true recently when he visited family in Germany. With his family, they traveled to France and Bob stood on the beaches of Normandy. Bob was not a beach person, he hated sand, but this sand was different, steeped in World War II history and was indeed the trip of a lifetime….Bob’s lifetime. Bob was a steadfast family man and a quiet, strong friend to many. He was the first to jump in when one of his friends needed him, not for recognition but simply because Bob was a GOOD man, a CARING man. Bob’s physical being has indeed gone to heaven, but his love, generosity and laughter lives on forever in the hearts of his family and the friends that loved him as family.
Bob is survived by his wife Mary, sons Brian (Daniela), Michael and granddaughters Ariana and Mia, brother Steve (Pam), sister Anna who has since passed, sister Mary (Wil) as well as nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
