Michael Duane Dunn

Michael Duane Dunn of Conroe, Texas age 66 died on Saturday July 9th 2016. Michael fought a courageous battle against Liver failure and Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on May 19, 1950 in Louisville Kentucky. . He is survived by his wife Sandra Chaney-Dunn and his two children, Deanna Dunn-Stinnett, (her husband Scott, and their children Savannah and Joseph) and Scott Dunn, (his wife Julie, and their children Joshua, Alexandria, Molly, and Andrew). Michael adored his six grandchildren. His parents, Francis Dunn and Louise Farrow-Dunn precede him in death. In addition, Michael had four siblings who all precede him in death: Dorothy Dunn-Meredith, Geraldine Dunn, Joyce Dunn-Bray, and Gene Dunn. Michael graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science Degree that focused on Transportation. Michael loved to sing and play his guitar. He started playing and singing in his childhood church. In his early years, Michael was greatly influenced by his pastor and uncle, the Reverend, George Rogers. His early experiences were never far from his thoughts. As Michael grew older, he renewed those earlier teachings of Reverend Rogers and incorporated them into his personal and business lives. Michael was an honorable man that loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by both his family and the many friends he made wherever he worked and lived. Michael was well known in the railroad and chemical industries. He started to work for the L&N railroad in 1969 in his home town of Louisville, Kentucky. He left the L&N and started to work for the Illinois Central Railroad in Louisville Kentucky. In 1983, he took his first job in the chemical industry and moved to Cincinnati Ohio. Michael thrived in his new job with USI Chemicals. During his time for USI, he made many friends with his contagious sense of humor. USI changed its name to Quantum Chemicals and later merged with Lyondell Chemicals in Houston Texas. Michael was eager to move to Houston with the Lyondell Company. He served Lyondell in Houston until 2009. He started to work for Weatherford Industries in 2010. Michael loved working for Weatherford and made many friends. He continued his dedication to the company until his illnesses in 2014 would not allow him to continue. His deepest regret was leaving the people he grew to love as family.
