Linda Beth Oates DeCuir passed away on December 19, 2017. She was born to Edith and Calvin Oates in San Antonio on September 28, 1943. At age two, she and her family moved to Port Arthur. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles DeCuir, parents, Calvin and Edith Oates and nephew Mark Oates. She is survived by her brother Charles Oates of Village Mills, TX. Daughter Chrissy Decuir of Houston,TX. Nephews, Mike Oates of Buna,TX, Brad Oates of Conroe,TX, Cory Moore, of Austin,TX. Nieces, Lori Moore Allen and Mary Kay Moore Milling of Austin, TX. She is also survived by many Great Nieces and Nephews whom she loved dearly. Shortly after Chrissy was born, Linda and Charles moved from Nederland to Conroe and built the home in Holly Hills where they lived the remainder of their lives. She had many careers. She was a realtor and an office administrator for many dentists’ and orthodontists’ offices. Her last job was an outside customer service representative for Point of Sale company. Above all, she cherished being a wife and mother. She was also an accomplished, self-taught artist. In high school, she loved to design and draw fashion. Later in life, she took up oil painting, her work dotting the corridors of many local businesses. In fact, many of her paintings sold almost as fast as they were hung at the First National Bank of Conroe. She loved decorating and crafts; especially installing wallpaper, she also loved reading. Romance novels were a favorite. An ideal afternoon for Linda would be to curl up with a good book followed by a nap and she loved Diet Dr. Pepper. She loved it so much, the local distributor made regular stops at her house to stock her up. Linda lived the remaining 3 years of her life at Home Sweet Home Assisted Living in Houston,TX. The loving and dedicated care provided her by Christina and all the amazing caregivers made her most difficult years as peaceful as possible.
