Laura Mae Maddox

She retired in January 1990 from Pine Tree Independent School District where she taught Spanish and French languages. They sponsored many foreign exchange students at their home in Kilgore Texas during her teaching years. After retirement, she and her husband, LD, traveled the country and enjoyed many wonderful years together meeting other RV homeowners and sharing their love of needlework and stained glass as well as many other arts and crafts projects. They settled in Willis Texas in 2011.

Laura is survived by her beloved husband, LD, of 65 years; 2 sons and their spouses, Michael and Brenda Maddox, David and Connie Maddox; daughter and spouse, Marcie and Sam Wirick; and 2 grandchildren, Morgan Maddox Cox and Caleb Maddox.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 2:00pm in Garden Park Cemetery with visitation one hour prior at Cashner Funeral Home. Donations may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org).
