Keith Wayne Valigura, 63, of Conroe, Texas passed away peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, January 12, 2021. He was the oldest child of Milton and Shirlene Valigura, born November 06, 1957 in College Station, Texas. He was a Conroe High School graduate, class of 1976, and earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Government from Sam Houston State University in 1980. He attended Texas A&M University and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the South Texas College of Law in 1984. He was honored to serve three terms as the first Republican (since Reconstruction) from Montgomery County elected to the State of Texas House of Representatives for the 69th, 70th, and 71st Legislature (1985-1991). He was proud to be an Eagle Scout and dedicated years to Scouting and the George Strake District. He enjoyed participating in the Barbecue Cook-off with his team at the Montgomery County Fair Association. He proudly served his community by practicing as an Attorney at Law in Montgomery County for almost 30 years.
Keith served his community, loved Jesus, Boy Scouts, fishing, and barbecuing. He loved cooking old family recipes so his chicken soup had to be exactly as his grandmother taught him how to make it, no exceptions. He loved sports, enthusiastically cheered for the Astros, Rockets, and Texans, and was especially a lifelong Aggie fan. He liked to relax by watching Old Western movies and television shows. But most of all he absolutely loved his two children. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, and kind heart.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Valigura of Conroe, Texas; parents, Milton and Shirlene Valigura of Conroe, Texas; maternal grandparents Randall and Gladys York of Conroe, Texas; and paternal grandparents Josef and Mary Valigura of Dime Box, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Alex Jean Chase (wife Jamie) of Houston, Texas; son Josef Martin Valigura of Conroe, Texas; grandson Ethan Jack Chase, of Houston, Texas; paternal aunt Dorothy Valigura of College Station, Texas; maternal aunt Patricia Gail York of Conroe, Texas; adored cousin and dear friend Linda Williams Rogers (husband Mike) of Montgomery, Texas; paternal cousins: Tom Valigura, Cindy Wilson, and TJ Krenek; maternal cousins: David York, Melissa McGregor, Jason York, Rhonda York, Adam York, Brian York, and Kevin York; numerous nephews, nieces, and their families. He had a multitude of cherished friendships including those from: childhood, school, sports, scouts, legislature, courthouse, and community. A host of extended family and beloved friends also mourn his passing, particularly his best friend Georgette Whatley, and close family friends: Clinton Wright, Nirm Advani, Dana Wooten, and Chris Buck.
