John Madison “JM” Golding Jr. was born July 15, 1938 in Conroe Texas to John Madison “Johnnie” Golding Sr. and Eunice Frances Ainsworth Golding. He went to be with the Lord October 25, 2017. JM graduated from Conroe High School class of 1956. He married the love of his life, Jo Ann Holmes and remained faithful for over 60 years. JM attended Sam Houston State University graduating with a BS in Agriculture Education. Then received his Master degree in Biology to later obtain his certifications for Education Administration. JM joined United States Navy Reserve July 25, 1955 retiring October 1, 1984 as a Chief Warrant Officer E4. His working career included Jefferson Chemical, then to run Golding’s Food Market in East Montgomery County. He worked for CISD for 21 years, from teaching science to driver’s education, then a Grade Level Assistant Principal, Head Assistant Principal, Vice Principal, and lastly back to his teaching roots at the Transition Program for CISD. He was a fair and honest disciplinarian that touched, changed and helped more students lives to be listed. JM was active growing up in 4-H and tended the family livestock and farm thru his retirement. He was always proud of his family history, and the fact that the Golding family settled in Conroe the year of 1855, and remain present and active within the community. JM was a member of the Sunshine Hunting Club since 1974 with many of his close friends. He had many hobbies that consisted of hunting, fishing, woodwork, firearm restoration and collector of many things along with a vast knowledge in many genre’s. JM was wonderful husband, brother, uncle, father and friend. He was “Papa” to his grandchildren of which he greatly loved and was very proud of. JM is preceded in death by his parents, John Madison “Johnnie” Golding Sr. and Eunice Frances Ainsworth Golding, his sisters Delphia Frances Golding Williams and Mary Agnes Golding Roth and several nephews. He is survived by wife of 60 years, Jo Ann Holmes Golding, sister Dorothy Ann Golding Petty, brother in law Fred B. Petty Jr., daughters Danni Jo Golding, Penni Ann Golding Biehl, son-in-law Geoffrey Andrew Biehl, grandchildren Madison Ann Golding, Brady Kyle Biehl and Zachary Clay Biehl.
Pallbearers: Robert Bennett, Mark Earnest, Fred Greer, Carter Moore, Rigby Owen Jr, Toby Powell, Martin Steen, John Earl Weisinger, and Aaron Wilson.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00PM Thursday November 2, 2017 at Metcalf Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be held 10:00AM Friday November 3, 2017 at The Vineyard Church of Conroe, 1126 N. San Jacinto St. Conroe, Texas. The interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park.
