James David Herrick was born in Orange, Texas June 4, 1945. He passed from this life at the age of 76 on January 6, 2022, in Conroe, Texas. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Joe D. and Marie (Maxwell) Herrick, and older brother Andrew Herrick. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marcene (Patterson) Herrick, nephews and niece Tom Herrick and wife Dina, Tim Herrick and wife Janice, and Connie (Herrick) Smith and husband John, along with great nieces and nephews.
Jim was a longtime member of the Conroe Church of Christ. For many of those years he participated in the Bus and the Children's Ministries through creative presentation of skits, puppet shows and audio visual lessons. In the most recent years, he participated in the Huntsville Prison Ministry.
After graduating from Waskom High School, Jim earned his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Abilene Christian University in 1968. Upon college graduation, he enlisted in the Army Reserves and was stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Conroe Church of Christ, 1860 Longmire Rd, Conroe, Texas 77304.
