Jack Thomas Wright passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, May 29, 2022, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife, family and loved ones at the age of 90 years old.
Jack Thomas Wright resided in the friendly community of Camilla Cove in Coldspring, Texas with his beloved wife of forty plus years, Evelyn Wright. He was well loved by family and friends of Camila Cove and known as Daddy Jack to everyone. Jack always did his best to work hard, providing for his family. He loved and raised six wonderful children. He began working at an early age; he was a Jack of all trades. Jack worked in the oil field industry for many years. Afterwards, he began framework with his brother Leon and owned a church furniture factory in Trinity, Texas with his daddy Joe Wright. He had other jobs from hauling eggs to selling insurance with his brother Chester and even having his own moving company. He went on to working in Galveston, Texas on the pipe yard as a heavy equipment operator and superintendent/foreman for over 17 years. He traveled to many places like Brazil, Holland, England due to his work, he never sat still. Jack and his wife Evelyn enjoyed and owned their own pilot car service, escorting oversized loads all over the United States together. He retired at the age of seventy-seven and continued living life to the fullest with his wife while enjoying fishing, hunting, and playing pool which was his passion. Jack loved spending time with his family and friends; he never met a stranger. He lived a life full of purpose and blessings, he will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his Daddy, Joe Wright and Momma Vinnie Wright; brothers Chester Wright and Leon Wright; sister Ora Lee Jordan and son Kelly Wright.
He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Wright of Coldspring, Texas; son Jack C. Wright and wife Dana of Coldspring, Texas; son Donald Wright and wife Barbara of Texas City; son Joshua Wright and wife Katie of Conroe, Texas; daughter Debbie Young of Santa Fe, Texas; daughter Margaret Dobson and Husband Dale of Conroe, Texas; his 13 grandchildren: Clent Wright, Zach Decker, Laurie Hieronymus, Christopher Wright, Ginny Wright, Zane Byrd, Jack Wright, Ben Bottom, Karen Griffin, Cyndi Moreno, Dylan Dobson, Luke Dobson, Kenneth Dobson; his 11 great grandchildren: Jake Decker, Kaden Decker, Katelyn Martinez, Cali Fotheringham, Courtney Wright, Celsie Wright, Scotty Wright, Austin Wiles, Addy Hieronymus, Ashton Dutton, Nichole Dutton, Dylan Lanier and many great, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 2:00pm in Cashner Colonial Hall with visitation held one hour prior to service and entombment following in Garden Park Mausoleum.
